FRESH FROM THE START

Ken’s Fruit Market got its start on August 13th, 2010 with our Alger Heights store. From the very beginning, we set out to bring to our customers the best quality products at the best possible prices. We strive to source our produce, meat, grocery and garden center items from local partners, brands and farmers whenever possible.

With the success of our first store, and people begging for more small, local, sincere businesses in the area, we opened our second store at 3500 Plainfield Ave NE in April of 2012. We have grown to have more than 75 employees at our two locations, providing our customers with the best products and service possible. In addition to our Grand Rapids stores, we have acquired another store in Ionia called Ken’s Farm Market. This was previously McCord’s Farm Market, where Ken began his career in the farm and fruit market business.

Over the years, we have grown to make Ken’s Fruit Market a name that our neighbors recognize and love. You will find the freshest produce with local, in-season selections available year round. You will find the finest cuts of meat prepared daily by our in-house butchers and a large selection of groceries (including our own private Ken’s label products), candy, garden center products, and beer and wine.* You might even see a familiar face or two from the neighborhood when you stop in. We look forward to evolving even more in the coming years, while still providing the goods and services you have come to expect from us.
